Honoring Their Memory

Memorial Day is a solemn time for many Israelis. In Israel, this day is called Yom Hazikaron, and will take place on May 8th this year. Almost everyone in Israel knows someone who died during their military service. For the past 14 years, the Parents Circle Families Forum, in conjunction with Combatants for Peace, has been holding a joint Memorial Day ceremony that acknowledges the ways in which both communities have suffered from the ongoing conflict. Their ceremony remembers and honors the terrible losses that both Israelis and Palestinians have faced in their search for peace.

This year, the Parents Circle is hosting satellite gatherings in cities across the US, including Boston. We are proud to partner with the Parents Circle and other peacebuilding NGO’s to help the Boston community recognize and draw inspiration from their work for reconciliation and peace.

Please join us on Tuesday, May 7, from 7:30-9:00 PM at Temple Sinai in Brookline to commemorate the Israeli-Palestinian Memorial Day Ceremony. We hope to see you there.
